Professional solvent-free, high-solid worktop oil based on linseed and tung oil. It penetrates and saturates the wood in one application, producing a matt, tactile, colour-enhancing finish that is water-repellent and suitable for demanding interior surfaces. The cured surface is tested for contact with food.

• Wood-and-epoxy surfaces with a fine final sanding

When should I choose it?

Choose Worktop Oil when you need a natural open-pore finish with strong water resistance and a deep, matt appearance. It is especially suitable for oak, walnut, olive and other hardwoods. On very light woods it can add a slightly warm yellow tone.

How to use it

1. Sand the wood evenly; for furniture, do not sand finer than P180. Remove all dust, grease, wax and silicone. Wood moisture should be approximately 8–12%.

2. Stir or shake the oil thoroughly. For faster curing and higher resistance, mix 5 parts oil with 1 part OLI-NATURA Hardener. The mixed material remains usable for approximately 2–3 hours.

3. Apply a small quantity very thinly with a rubber squeegee, spatula or beige pad.

4. Massage the oil into the wood with a beige pad and allow it to react for 15–30 minutes.

5. Polish away every trace of excess with a white pad or oil-absorbent cloth. The surface must feel dry and must not remain sticky.

Coverage and drying

One coat. Depending on the wood and absorbency, approximately 20–40 ml/m², or about 25–50 m² per litre. Dust-dry after approximately 1.5–2 hours and fully cured after 5–7 days; the 2-component version cures about 2–3 days faster. Protect from water and do not wet-clean until fully cured.

Good to know

Tested to LFGB food-contact requirements, DIN EN 71-3 and DIN 53160. Solvent-free and made without cobalt, oximes, formaldehyde, aromatic solvents, biocides or preservatives. Oil-soaked cloths and pads can self-ignite: clean them immediately, store them under water, or keep them airtight in a metal container.
